Industrialization occurs when industry is introduced on a large scale to a region or country It is the process of converting to a socioeconomic order in which industry is dominant. The Industrial Revolution is the name given the movement in which machines changed people's way of life as well as their methods of manufacture
Individual manual labor is often replaced by mechanized mass production, and craftsmen are replaced by assembly lines, while marketing goes digital in as much as Inventory management moves from analogue book records to computer-based system. Characteristics of industrialization include economic growth, more efficient division of labor, and the use of technological innovation to solve problems as opposed to dependency on conditions outside human control.
In Europe and the United States, industrialization occurred in the 1700s and 1800s, with the changes beginning in Britain. This period is called the Industrial Revolution. The "Second Industrial Revolution" labels the later changes that came about in the mid-19th century after the refinement of the steam engine, the invention of the internal combustion engine, the harnessing of electricity and the construction of canals, railways and electric-power lines. The invention of the assembly line gave this phase a boost. Coal mines, steelworks, and textile factories replaced homes as the place of work. Textile manufacturing became mechanized, transportation (canals, railroads, and road systems) became more efficient, and steam power was introduced. Goods became more accessible and cheaper.
Later industrializers attempted to manipulate some of these elements. The Soviet Union, for instance, industrialized largely on the basis of forced labour and eliminated the entrepreneur, while in Japan strong state involvement stimulated and sustained the entrepreneur’s role. Other states, notably Denmark and New Zealand, industrialized primarily by commercializing and mechanizing agriculture.. By the end of the 20th century, East Asia had become one of the most recently industrialized regions of the world. The BRICS states (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) are undergoing the process of industrialization.
Industrialization offered gains in efficiency that affected almost every facet of life in society. Industrialization increased agricultural and manufacturing output, allowing people to take jobs in other sectors and increasing the amount of consumer goods and food available to the populace. Industrialization created significant population growth, as well as increases in economic output. It also spurred technological development, enabling scientific advances that changed the world
Third Industrial Revolution
The computer age has brought us to the third face of industrial revolution which recently has been under used especially in the developing countries. This platform brought the opportunity of digital industrial revolution and a global industrial community. It is designed to give remote producers the opportunity to compete favorably with the urban industries thus bridging the gap of distance .
Furthermore it is also a place to tackle the different problems of industrialization and induce the smooth running of industries with various advanced techniques. In fact it is a home where demands meet supply and supply meets demand .
